The civilised beginning and the gluttonous end. After five days of exploring the Canberra wine region @edenroadwines was the clear favourite. Not only were all the wines here amazing but the friendly and knowledgable service by Guillermo.and Chloe made our day. The 2018 Tumburrumba Chardonnay was soft with a round finish. I think we nabbed the last bottle but don't despair, the 2019 vintage is also a banger. The Canberra Reisling was also on the buy list and the 94 Block 2014 Syrah was also in the boot when we left. It was so hard to choose and we will definitely be back again. Follow our adventures. Link in bio.. #syarh #shiraz #riesling #chardonnay #cellardoor #winetourism #winetime #canberrawineregion
@poppy_the_blacklab and @daisythewinedog got acquainted today at Lakes Folly Vineyard. Not the best picture, but you know what they say about working with animals and small children... @lakesfollyvineyard new release is just out and being snapped up. Be quick. Their two wines 2020 Chardonnay and 2019 Cabernets a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, shiraz and Petit Verdot are great. The 2019 Cabernet release is bright with dark fruits with light tannins an absolute stunner. Follow our adventures. @shawwines was a great discovery in Murrumbateman. Their Estate Shiraz has aromas of cherry and pepper with soft tannins. The cellar door is a stunningly designed building with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the grounds. @olleyvilleatshaw is also insite with an amazing menu as well as a takeaway menu with gourmet woodfired pizzas. A jewel of a wine paired nicely with a custom designed ring by @nataliekubefinejewellery Follow our adventures. A person can't live on wine alone so it is fortuitous that we found The Poacher's Pantry. @poacherspantry offers a bit of something for everyone: a farm shop selling their own smokehouse meats and other gourmet goodies, a cellar door featuring both Poacher's and Wily Trout wines, a restaurant and space for weddings and other events. Hidden down a tree lined lane, the manicured grounds are a perfect place to hide out with a perfectly curated gourmet hamper and a glass of something yummy. What a perfect afternoon. @clonakillawines has a big reputation and our first visit here was full of expectation. There was so much to love about this winery. After last year's harvest was badly affected by smoke taint, the winery joined with other growers to produce some of the newest vintages. The Eden Valley Viognier and Tasmanian Chardonnay were gorgeous. My personal favourite was the Shiraz Viognier grown from Clonakilla's own vineyard. Not happy with just a sip, a glass of this wonder on the outside terrace was the perfect end to a great day. Follow our adventures. Link in bio. #shiraz #shirazviognier
